Another day at RMR. This time with Ellie, a squirrel from Down Under. Is anybody able to spot the moon in this high quality picture? |
And that's the biggest cliff ever dropped by a human being, seriously!

After a little bit of hiking ... |
... Flo and I had some fun. |
Yesterday, I started my day quite early to go on a little tour in the cold. |
These two skiers took me along to a logging road; a totally new thing to me. Except for the chain mounting. But Alex's chains were kind of tricky ... |
... so we had to mount them "the Canadian way". Fortunately, Alex had some wire. |
Cal, enjoying the cold ride up the logging road. He almost lost a toe this day and made some concerning noises on our way back home. - 27 °C can definitely hurt. |
The arrival on the top of our skiing-spot. After a little lunch break, we went down ... |
... and up again ... |
... through winter-wonderland. |
On our way back home I practised my drive-by shooting skills. Hopefully, you like this tourist-shot. |

Florence and Ellie |
Simon, and the white reason for the smiling faces. |
Some words; the philosophy of the SameSun Hostels. |
Ella, Maddie and Flo. I guess Ella is wondering about the meaning of Flo's weird gang-sign. |
And that seems to be the proper canadian way to study ... |
The lake behind the Revelstoke Dam with its parkinglot. Turned out as a spot for sled-heads. |
So we hiked up the sled-track for about two hours ... |
... and rode it back down. |
Beers and sandwiches, and lots of fun! |
That's what it looks like above the clouds. Flo took this picture last week while he was trained as a lifty. Can't wait to get up there! |
After an exhausting jumping session we spent some minutes at the sauna and talked about a preseason-skiing-session. |
A few days later, Cal and I went (on bikes, as you can see above) straight into ... |
... the woods ... |
... looking for some powder. All we found was some snow to ski hard. |
Last friday, I walked along the river to this little bridge ... |
... and checked out a very decent spot for my summer vacation. |
Same bridge, but on sunday. |
The view on friday ... |
... and again two days later. |
The Hostel, where I am working and staying right now. |

The staff kitchen ... |
... and living room. |
My personal territory. I know the wall looks pretty dull. But just for now ... |
Revelstoke's skyline, on the way up |
Columbia River and Mt Mac Pherson, the view from the ski jumping area |
Flo, Alice and me. One third of the Same Sun Hostel Staff. |
Calgary got winterized. Here is a snapshot of my way to Revelstoke. The windshield wasn't as clean as the views and sky. |
Revelstoke... |
... and its mountains; autumn time. |
The Arrow Lake, pretty dry though. |
Mt MacPherson on the left | Flo with some stone skimming action on the right. |
We also found some mysterious traces of the Canadian wildlife; hopefully nothing too dangerous... |
