Mainland

Last week, we left Vancouver Island ...
... and said "Hi" to Vancouver for another time.
We found a good spot with an amazing view over the harbour and with Downtown in the background. After two days we went back to Whistler ...
... where Hansi found a room. That's the view from his balcony. Seems to be a good head quarter for the next months. And so is Whistler. We had really good times in the skate park, at the lakes and on the bikes.
Have fun there!
I don't know how, but I was able to get all my stuff packed!
Today, I hitch hiked to Vancouver with all that luggage. My 'driver' invited me to have some beers and a self-made Polish pea soup at his place. We had very good conversations about soccer, European history, life, hunting and - of course - beer.
Travelling at its best side!
After a nice day in Vancouver, I arrived at the airport eventually.
Next stop: YUKON

Tofino

Finally, we headed to Tofino. Our first stop was another lake. It may look boring to drive from lake to lake, BUT
it isn't !
Kennedy Lake, with a rainbow. We couldn't find any treasure chest ...
... but anyway, as a wise human once said: "good food is one of the most important things in life". It has to be good food for human though!
Even though Moritz broke his foot and was forced to relax, he showed us awesome spots in and around Tofino
This muddy hike was one of his suggestions ...
... and one of our favourites.
Pretty nice view from the top of the hike, eh!?
There are no pictures of Hansi and me skateboarding Tofino's super fun skatepark, so I hope this one transports enough action for you.

Vancouver Island pt. II

We teamed up, again ...
... this time, to hit some logging roads ...
... and some nice trails.
Hansi introduced me to fishing, thanks for that !
We enjoyed some more campfires ...
... lakes ...
... a lot of sun (and ice cream)
more campfires (and a lot more stars)
Another lake
Same spot, by day ...
... and by night. Yes, it's the moon!
Aaand another lake.
The hardest part on Vancouver Island is to decide, which lake is the most beautiful

Vancouver Island pt. I

After our summer snowboarding session on Mt Hood we headed to Portland for some skateboarding and shopping. We also watched the German soccer team playing the U.S. boys there; good bar, good (german) beer and a good game!
It's been a week now since we finally said "Goodbye!" to the U.S. and "Hello again!" to Canada:
Victoria, B.C.
After a night and a day in Victoria - B.C.'s capital on Vancouver Island - we drove our van to Parksville. A reunion took place there.
(Robin's van to the right, Florence's car in the background on the left side)
Parksville is where Maddie and Mick are living at the moment ...
... and this is where they took us camping for a couple of days ...
... after our caravan mastered a few logging roads.
I practiced some hanging ...
... reading ...
... jumping ...
... floating ...
... swinging ...
... and paddling.
Robin and I are getting ready for our Yukon canoe trip in August and Robin's friend and travel mate Theresa seems to enjoy something.
Hansi is doing what he's best at ...
... and we are planning our next adventure on this awesome island.

Mount Hood

Trillium Lake and Mount Hood a couple of days ago
Hansi took some pictures of the wildlife there ...
... and we still don't know if that fellow was poisonous.
The first day we went up to go snowboarding again, we met this awesome guy: Ben.
He's from Vermont and he definitely knows how to have fun on a snowboard!
So does Hansi, sending it all day long in the perfectly shaped public park on Mt Hood
Hansi again, with a serious tailpress
Some people stay in line, I'd rather snowboard
The team on the last day: Ben, me, Ben's buddy and roomie Sam and Hansi
I got rid of my boots (thanks again Maddie!) ...
... and ended my last day of riding on this continent (so far) in another hot tub ...
... in the middle of a forest; Ben's backyard.
Thanks again Ben, for letting us stay in your drive way. And thanks to all of your buddies for fun times and an unforgettable stay at Mount Hood!
